Still trusting other drivers ?

A dashcam is a compact camera installed inside your vehicletypically on the windshield that continuously records the road while you drive and, depending on the setup, can also monitor your car while it’s parked. It captures video evidence of incidents such as accidents, near misses, or vandalism, and modern systems can include features like front, interior and rear coverage, high-resolution recording, GPS tracking, and smartphone connectivity. In simple terms, a dashcam acts as an independent witness, providing reliable footage to protect you, your vehicle, and your liability on the road.

All dashcams we supply and recommend feature 4K front recording for clear, detailed footage, along with a hardwiring kit supplied or available to enable parking mode functionality. Each system connects to a dedicated smartphone app, allowing you to easily view and download footage directly to your phone. At a minimum, all models include impact detection parking mode, ensuring your vehicle is monitored and protected while parked in the event of a hit or disturbance.

What is a Hardwiring Kit?

A hardwiring kit connects your dashcam directly to your vehicle’s fuse box instead of using the cigarette lighter socket.

Why it matters:

  • Enables parking mode recording

  • Provides a clean, hidden installation

  • Automatically turns the dashcam on/off with the vehicle

Built-in protection:

Most hardwiring kits include a low-voltage cutoff, which:

  • Monitors your vehicle battery

  • Turns the dashcam off before the car battery gets too low

👉 Protects your car from being unable to start.

Some brands have it built-in, some are separate from the camera.

the Parking mode allows your dashcam to monitor your vehicle while the engine is off but not all systems work the same way.

Impact detection

  • Most common (especially budget cams)

  • Records when the vehicle is hit or shaken

  • Essential for hit-and-run incidents

  • Low power consumption, can last few days on car starter battery without problem.

Motion detection

When activated, the camera will start recording if there is movement in front of the camera. Once the camera does not detect movement for XX seconds, it stops recording and returns to the “Motion Detection” mode. The camera will record again in the time of detecting a new movement.

  • Can be quite energy intensive if vehicle is parked in a busy area and camera often active. Requires usually a battery pack and bigger memory card to be efficient.

Buffered Parking Mode (Premium)

The dashcam records the cache without writing on the memory card. Once the event is triggered, the cache content will be transferred onto the memory card to make the pre-recording for this event. Recorded videos could include some seconds before an event being detected with normal playing speed and normal image quality.

  • Can be quite energy intensive if vehicle is parked in a busy area and camera often active. Requires usually a battery pack and bigger memory card to be efficient.

Auto-Event detection (can be buffered)

  • Uses both the G-sensor (impacts) and camera sensor (motion detection) to initiate recording.

Low bitrate time lapse

  • Continuous recording at reduced quality

  • Covers long periods efficiently

  • Good for general surveillance

  • Can be quite energy intensive if vehicle is parked in a busy area and camera often active. Requires usually a battery pack and bigger memory card to be efficient.

Battery packs

A dashcam battery pack is a dedicated, standalone power source designed to run your dashcam while the vehicle is turned off, without draining the car’s main battery. It charges automatically while you drive and then supplies power to the dashcam during parking, allowing extended recording times well beyond what a standard hardwiring kit can provide. This ensures reliable parking mode operation especially for overnight or street parking while protecting your vehicle’s battery and maintaining consistent performance.

A battery pack allows:

  • Longer parking mode recording
  • Zero drain on your starter battery
  • Stable voltage supply
  • Safer long-term operation
  • You drive/charge for ~40 min, you'll have enough for ~20 hours of parking mode

Ideal for:

  • Vehicles parked long hours (airport, busy carparks, train station car parks,...)
  • Luxury vehicles
  • Work vehicles
