Autowatch Ghost II — Owner Guide
Operating Instructions, PIN Management & Troubleshooting
Welcome to your Autowatch Ghost II owner guide.
Find instructions for everyday operation, changing your PIN, using Service/Valet Mode, managing Bluetooth fobs and recovering access if you forget your disarm sequence.
Important: Ghost II functions and confirmation signals may vary depending on the vehicle and installation configuration. Follow the instructions provided during your Positive Terminal installation handover.
1. Normal Operation — Disarming Ghost II
Ghost II automatically returns to its armed state after the vehicle ignition is switched off. Rearming typically occurs within 3–30 seconds, depending on the vehicle.
To Disarm
Switch the vehicle ignition ON.
Enter your personalised disarm sequence using the designated vehicle buttons.
Wait for 2 confirmation flashes.
Start the engine or drive normally, depending on the vehicle's immobilisation configuration.
If Your PIN Is Not Accepted
Wait 5 seconds and try entering the sequence again.
If unsuccessful, switch the ignition OFF.
Wait 10 seconds before repeating the procedure.
Important: Some Ghost II installations prevent engine starting, while others prevent gear selection or use a vehicle-specific engine-stall function. The engine starting without a PIN does not necessarily mean Ghost II has been disarmed.
Always wait for the 2 confirmation flashes before driving.
2. Changing Your Ghost II PIN
Your PIN is a personalised sequence entered using compatible factory vehicle buttons.
For security, replace the default installation sequence with one that only you know.
PIN Requirements
Minimum 3 button presses
Maximum 20 button presses
No more than 2 seconds between button presses
Repeated buttons are permitted
No more than 4 consecutive presses of the designated Service button
Some vehicle buttons require a longer press to register
Step 1 — Enter Learn Mode
Switch the ignition ON without starting the engine.
Enter your current PIN.
Press and hold the accelerator pedal fully down.
Enter your current PIN again.
Wait for the indication signal to flash every 3 seconds.
Release the accelerator pedal.
Learn Mode is now active.
On some vehicles, the high-beam stalk or hazard switch replaces the accelerator pedal.
Step 2 — Program Your New PIN
Enter your new disarm sequence.
Wait for 3 indication flashes.
Enter the same new sequence again.
Wait approximately 3 seconds.
2 flashes: New PIN successfully programmed.
4 flashes: Programming unsuccessful. Switch the ignition OFF and restart the procedure.
Note: Certain programming outcomes may remove existing smartphone pairings. If your phone no longer authorises Ghost II, it may need to be paired again.
3. Service / Valet Mode
Service Mode temporarily allows your vehicle to be operated without entering your Ghost II PIN.
Use this when leaving your vehicle with a mechanic, dealership, tyre shop or valet service.
Activate Service Mode
Disarm Ghost II using your PIN.
With the ignition ON, press the designated Service button 5 times.
Wait for 5 confirmation flashes.
Service Mode is now active.
Manually Deactivate Service Mode
Switch the ignition ON.
Enter your normal PIN.
Wait for 2 confirmation flashes.
Ghost II has returned to normal security mode and will rearm when the ignition is switched off.
Automatic Service Mode Exit
According to the Australian owner's manual, Service Mode automatically exits when the vehicle:
Exceeds 50 km/h, and
Continues driving for longer than 15 minutes.
After automatic exit, Ghost II will require the PIN for the next start attempt.
Service Mode is temporary and is not intended as a permanent immobiliser override.
4. Bluetooth Key Fob — Normal Operation
An optional paired Bluetooth key fob can automatically authorise Ghost II without requiring manual PIN entry.
How It Works
Carry your paired Bluetooth fob.
Switch the ignition ON.
Ghost II detects the authorised fob.
Wait for 2 confirmation flashes.
Drive normally.
Important Precautions
Never leave a paired fob inside the vehicle.
Keep your PIN available if the fob battery becomes flat.
If a paired fob is lost, remove its authorisation from Ghost II.
Bluetooth fob battery: CR2032
Estimated battery life: 6 months, according to the Australian owner's manual.
Pairing a New Bluetooth Fob
The Ghost II fob-pairing procedure must be followed using the correct Ghost II-specific instructions.
Contact Positive Terminal if you require assistance pairing a replacement fob.
5. Smartphone Pairing
Compatible Ghost II installations can support smartphone authorisation through the appropriate Ghost application.
Once paired and correctly configured, the smartphone may provide an alternative to manually entering your PIN.
Pairing Assistance
Follow the Ghost II-specific application and pairing instructions supplied with your system.
Do not use the Ghost 3 pairing sequence unless your installer has explicitly confirmed that it applies to your hardware.
Important: Smartphone compatibility can depend on the application version, operating system, Bluetooth permissions and Ghost hardware.
If smartphone authorisation stops working, use your normal PIN and contact Positive Terminal for assistance.
6. Lost or Stolen Bluetooth Fob
If you lose a paired Bluetooth fob, remove the stored fob authorisations to prevent the missing device from disarming your immobiliser.
Delete All Paired Fobs
The Australian Ghost 2/3 manual specifies the following procedure:
Enter the disarm sequence programming procedure.
Press your designated Service button 10 times.
Wait for 2 confirmation flashes.
All paired fobs have been deleted.
Any remaining fobs must be paired again.
Warning: This procedure deletes every paired fob, not only the missing one.
7. Emergency PIN Recovery
If you forget your PIN or a vehicle button used in your disarm sequence stops working, Ghost II provides an emergency recovery procedure.
Your unique 4-digit emergency code is located beneath the scratch-off panel on your Ghost security card.
Enter Your Emergency Code
Switch the ignition ON.
Press and hold the brake pedal.
Press and release the accelerator pedal the number of times corresponding to the first digit of your emergency code.
Wait approximately 1 second.
Release the brake pedal.
Press and hold the brake pedal again.
Repeat the process for the remaining three digits, releasing and pressing the brake between digits.
Release the brake after the fourth digit.
Successful entry: The indication signal flashes every 3 seconds, confirming Learn Mode.
You can now program a replacement PIN using the instructions in Section 2, Step 2.
Emergency Driving Authorisation
The emergency code can also allow one driving cycle without programming a new PIN.
If you need to drive the vehicle again without setting a replacement PIN, the emergency procedure must be repeated.
Important: Some vehicles use the high-beam stalk or hazard switch instead of the accelerator. Use the input specified during your installation handover.
Never share your emergency code or PIN with unauthorised persons.
8. Troubleshooting
My PIN Is Not Working
Check that the ignition is ON and that you are using the correct vehicle buttons.
Wait 5 seconds before trying again. If unsuccessful, switch the ignition OFF, wait 10 seconds and restart the procedure.
My Vehicle Starts Without Entering the PIN
Some Ghost II installations allow the engine to start but prevent gear selection or unauthorised driving.
This behaviour depends on the vehicle-specific immobilisation configuration.
Always wait for the 2 confirmation flashes before driving.
My Bluetooth Fob Is Not Working
Check the fob battery and confirm that the fob is paired.
Use your normal PIN if automatic authorisation is unavailable.
My Vehicle No Longer Requires the PIN
Check whether Service/Valet Mode is active or an authorised Bluetooth device is present.
If the behaviour continues unexpectedly, contact Positive Terminal.
I Have Forgotten My PIN
Use your unique emergency code and the recovery procedure in Section 7.
If you cannot complete the procedure, contact your authorised installer.
