Vhedia Reverse Camera Upgrade LandCruiser 200 Series – 2007-2015
Modern head unit. Old camera. Time to fix the weak link.
Most 200 Series owners only notice the problem after the head unit is in. The screen is brilliant, the interface is sharp, then reverse gear engages and the picture looks like it’s from a decade ago. That’s because it is. The factory camera was never designed to push a 1080P signal, so no matter how good the screen is, the image will always be the bottleneck. This camera fixes that at the source.
What matters most
- True AHD 1080P signal for genuine HD resolution, not upscaled SD
- Factory housing fitment so the camera sits exactly where the original did, no visible modifications
- Plug and play harness that connects directly to the existing camera circuit
- Field of view matched to factory so you don’t have to relearn your reversing reference points
- AHD compatibility required at the head unit end (Vhedia units handle this natively)
What you’ll experience
Backing into a tight driveway at dusk, you’ll actually see the kerb, the bollard, and the kid’s bike before you find them. Hitching a trailer becomes a one-shot job because you can read the tow ball position clearly instead of guessing. Wet nights and dark carparks stop being a problem because the AHD signal holds its detail where the old camera would smear into noise.
Built for
LandCruiser 200 Series owners running an aftermarket head unit (Vhedia or otherwise) who want their reverse camera to match the rest of the upgrade. Suits DIY installers comfortable with a single-connector swap, and equally at home for workshops fitting head unit packages to client vehicles.
Compatibility Notes
- ❌ Will not work on badges with a factory 360 camera
- ❌ Not compatible with T Series for Prado VX/Kakadu or Sahara/VX 200 Series
- ❌ Does not work with factory radio
- ✅ For aftermarket radios (non-Vhedia), ensure they support or can switch to AHD 1080P format
